I get asked two questions very often; What would your perfect take on a Justice League movie be and Who would you cast?
Let’s start with a basic plot outline…
Honestly, I would have done something similar to The Batman, when he meets up with all the Leaguers and forms the League. Basically, alien invasion, via his Wayne Tech facility. Now that the Avengers basically did the same thing, I have but one option available in my mind… Go Big, or Go Home.
I would primarily draw on an already established movie-verse character to draw in the audience and help them be familiar with the world. (You didn’t see the Avengers centre around Clint now did ya?)
With Man of Steel around the corner and an already very successful Dark Knight franchise done and dusted, the two main bets would be on the two main characters DC and WB seem to focus on. Batman or Superman. Now Batman’s villains are not going to pose much of a global threat, Batman can bat-a-rang them back into Arkham… So that would leave Superman. And like I said, Go Big or Go Home… Who bigger than Darkseid. BAM! This is a newbie Supes, one movie old, so therefore he can’t really be BIG KAHUNA Supes. The movies (bless us with a trilogy) should gradually introduce us to an ever growing powerful Superman, so naturally, a one movie old Superman would not be able to take on Darkseid alone. He would seek help from the other established character, Batman.
On the other side of the world, break to paradise island, being attacked by Darkseid minions… AMAZONS ATTACK… some death…Angry Amazons and they want justice and to discover what happened… in the middle of it all Col. Steve Trevor, who is trying to defend the earth, crash lands on Themyscira. Since Diana has already proven herself in battle, she is charged with taking Steven back (See how I sorta gave us a WW show)
Break to a crime scene, were we see Barry Allen trying to establish from the one dead alien the police manage to find, what the heck is going on here. BAM! He gets zapped with alien blah blah, he stumbles back, chemicals fall on him… he survives… [Break]
(Now I’m gonna take the fact that the GL movie sort of established the zest of their story to advantage here)
Break to a Marine brigade helping to fight off the alien invasion, green glowy light selects John Stewart… Inducted into the corps and since he’s smarter than Hal, he figures out how to use the ring (I am taking the DCAU JL Bruce Timm version here, because I grew up with that)
So, we have Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern. We have a slap dash origin of each, we have fight scenes, and now, we have them join forces, to come together and kick alien ass. But because I love my girls, we have two others join the fight, Black Canary, because she is an ace martial artist and Vixen, because she has the powers of all animals at her disposal. And because I like the number 7.
They kick Darkseids’ minions butts back to Apokolips and just because it would be so much fun, we have a mega epic face off between Superman and Darkseid. And then, à la Superman/Batman apocalypse, Batman re configures the Mother Box (He can, Because He’s Batman) and sends Darkseid away, before he beats Superman into a pulp.
HOORAY!!! We officially have a Justice League. Later movies, after JL, can explore each hero in detail.

Boris Kodjoe and John Stewart aka Green Lantern

(Sad thing is WB could have made a Vixen movie, all they needed to do was change the title of that Catwoman movie. They didn’t even need to change the plot, as Mari works as model. But alas, they seemed to be high or stupid or a mixture of both)
